Competition Rules For 2012 - Junior Section

 

1. The Junior Beach Championship will be fished over 14 matches with all 14 to count.

 

2. Only Junior members between the ages of 8 to 16 will be eligible to fish. 

 

3. Any Junior who's birthday falls after the start of the year's competitions will be allowed to complete that years matches.

 

4. All competitions will be commodore with the limits to be set by The Officer of the Day.

 

5.On competitions adults may not cast or retrieve for their child, but baiting up is permitted.

 

6. A minimum of three Juniors will make up a competition.

 

7. Competitors may fish with two rods and a maximum of three hooks or two pennell rigs between the two rods.

 

8. Fishing will be to Club Minimum Size Limits.

 

9. All Juniors must book in at the clubhouse and may not leave the clubhouse until directed to do so by the Officer of the Day.

 

10. Competition will be run on a  points system:

 

  I. The Heaviest bag or longest length - 100 point + 10 points for fishing.

  II. All positions scored as a percentage of the winners total + 10 points for fishing.

 III. Specimen fish (one only per species) - 10 points per species per person as per      Club Specimen List.

 

11.On measure and return matches all fish caught will be measured and returned to the sea, size limits will not apply on these matches. Parents may not measure their own child's fish, this must be done by an independent adult. Sizeable fish may be kept for weighing purposes if the Officer of the Day thinks it may New Club Record, Specimen or be eligible for Fish of the Month.

 

12. The Junior who gains the most points during the fishing year  will be named as the "Junior Club Champion"

 

13. That the boat Junior Boat Champion and runner up be entered in to a "Regional" competition as agreed by the Committee so as a representative of the club.

 

14. The Junior Section will endeavour to run a Junior Open once a Year   

     

  

 

MEMBERS ARE NOT TO LEAVE FISH ON THE CLUB PREMISES OR TO DUMP THEM IN THE SEA OFF THE SLIPWAY
